Belize Vacation Video

We love getting videos and photos from our guests and this one is a beauty. From Steve Fief who returned to the Dome for a second visit, this time with his Dad, Mark (His first trip outside the USA). Steven and Mark did the 7 Night Reef and Ruins Package, booked through the Belize Jungle Dome. If you want "laid back adventure" then this is it. Enjoy.

Belize Trip Reviews - March, April 2013

March 10, 2013.

Andy, Simone, David, Nora, Wanni, Lucas, Aidan, and the rest of the staff; What an amazing 4 days! Everything was so much fun, and the guides were so well-informed, it is hard to pick a favorite.
The first day we went to the Xunantunich Mayan site; quite interesting, with Junior as our guide;

Then on to the Iguana Park.

Next day was to Cave’s Branch tubing, as we floated through limestone cave, and then down a gentle river with Fernando.

The next day to Caracol Mayan ruins, Rio Frio Cave, and Rio on waterfalls and swimming area with Bruce.

Every day was new and exciting, and our room was always clean when we got back, besides an excellent breakfast and dinner every day. Your staff is what made it so special.

On day one at the airport we met David, and he drove us every day and become a good friend to us. He was great company and an amazing young man.

Best of luck to you all! Hope to see you again. This trip was for a 50th anniversary and Simone (as busy as she is) even remembered, and made us a card. What a group!

Dear Jungle Dome team,

Many thanks for an amazing introduction to Belize over the past 5 days, from the pick-up at the airport and trip to the zoo, and throughout the action-packed few days, I’ve had a great time experiencing a variety of activities, including my first ever horse ride and the beautiful ATM caves.

At the end of each adventure, it has been wonderful to have that feeling of coming ‘home’ to the Jungle Dome, and being made to feel part of the family, with lovely home-cooked meals, a comfy, homely room, and great conversations.

Thanks for the tips and advice, I am sure I will use in San Pedro in the coming days. You have a lovely place, and I will definitely  recommend it to anyone coming out here.

Belize Jungle Dome is AWESOME! David, our caretaker, has been amazing! He is full of knowledge about the sights we’ve asked him about. He is so interesting to talk to.

The meals have been very convenient, especially since we were over Easter weekend, when most restaurants have been closed. The pool is a refreshing break when we get back from our tours.

Make sure you do the cave tubing/zip-lining. St. Herman’s cave and the Blue Hole is an interesting side trip. Tomorrow we head to Mountain Pine Ridge and the, sadly, we have to leave the Jungle Dome, and head to San Ignacio.

We’ll always remember our stay here, and how welcome David made us feel.  I plan on writing a fantastic TripAdvisor review!

P.S. Love the friendly dogs, who also made us feel at home!

Belize Trip Review Michigan, USA - Kevin and Chele Green - December 2007

Wow! The trip of a lifetime!!

Thank you Karen and staff at the Jungle Dome for the unforgettable experiences. We started our 6 year anniversary trip in San Pedro where we snorkeled until our hearts were content ~ 4 days of back to back water adventures.

The inland Belize tours were the most breathtaking. We started by visiting Xunantunich and kayaking on the Mopan River with our guide Henry. Then off to the Black Hole Drop – what a gorgeous hike through the mountainous rainforest. If our legs weren’t sore enough next we traversed the Actun Tunichil Muknal water cave where we conquered our fears of heights & claustrophobia. Lastly we were awestruck by the Tikal Mayan Temples. How Magnificent!

We finished our tour of duty with a horseback ride and ziplining our way back to the USA

[We are] Totally gutted that this is our last night here at the Jungle Dome – the Cayes are going to have a lot to live up to!

We have had an amazing time here from cave tubing, zip lining, visiting ATM & Xunantunich, horse riding, massages, eating great food, gong to the butterfly farm, doing the Black Hole Drop to just spending a relaxing day by the pool .

We would recommend the Jungle Dome to anyone ~ quite simply great!

Belize Trip Review - Wilkerson Family from Texas, USA

We booked the "Reef and Ruins" package and had no idea what we were getting into. Turns out that this was the best vacation ever. From the moment we arrived in Belize we felt so welcome. David greeted us at the airport with a big smile and took us on our first adventure, the Belize Zoo.

Our seven year old was already having the time of his life. After the zoo David drove us to the Jungle Dome. As we arrived at the Jungle Dome we were greeted by the sounds of howler monkeys and parrots. At that moment we knew that this was going to be some adventure. Karen ,the manager, greeted us at the front gate like we were old friends returning home. Her warmth and friendliness was so comforting. She showed us around the property and brought us to our room. The room was spacious and very clean and it looked out to the pool. There were warm chocolate chip cookies waiting for us. We were ready to see what was next for us.

During our stay we visited CheChem Ha and Xunantunich with our English speaking guide Luis. He was very knowledgeable about the Mayan Ruins and surrounding plants. We enjoyed his company and were lucky enough to have him as our guide on two other tours, cave tubing and Tikal. Our son's favorite outing was the zip lining. He enjoyed climbing through the jungle and climbing up to the first platform. If you could see his face coming across the zip line it was worth a millon dollars! The views from Xunantunich and Tikal were spectacular although the ride to Guatamala was a bit bumpy, but worth it. The horse back riding with Kim in the cocoa fields was great, the horses were friendly and easy to ride and the lunch served afterwards was the best.

After each day's exciting adventure we went back to the Jungle Dome and took a cool swim in their pool and settled down to a home cooked meal with the other families staying at the Dome. Over dinner we each shared our day's expedition in the wild and talked about how wonderful Belize is. We relaxed in the hammocks after the tasty treats the girls in the kitchen prepared and watched our son play with the local children.

Before we know it our "Ruins" part of the trip was over and we were on a small plane heading to San Pedro to experience the "Reef". We first did the snorkeling/manatee watching trip. The water was clear and the snorkeling was good, many interesting fish and coral to see. The BBQ lunch on the beach was delicious and the local tour guides were funny. On day two we went to shark alley and swam with the sharks and sting rays. Then back to the beach for a relaxing afternoon at the hotel. The hotel, Banana Beach, was older, but well kept. The two pools were nice and refreshing and the restaurant served good hot meals in a timely manner.

We decided to extend our vacation an extra day on San Pedro so we had an opportunity to drive a golf cart around the town to do some shopping. Unfortunately our trip was about to come to an end. We packed up our belongings, and souvenirs and headed back to the states. It is now 3 months later and we are still talking about this trip. We show our pictures to anyone willing to look at them.

It truly was the most amazing experience we have had as a family and the best vacation anyone could ask for. We feel very lucky to have had the chance to do this and look forward to being able to return someday.

To everyone who made this trip so great, Karen, David, Luis, kitchen girls, Kim, Miguel, William, and we can't forget Phoebe and Max, a HUGE thank you from the Wilkersons.

Belize Trip Review from Nicole Hill and Treva Jarvis - Utah and Nebraska, USA

"My best friend from college and I decided to do a "kid-free" vacation and choose to come to the Jungle Dome in Belize. It turned out even better than we had dreamed! It was SO fun!!! My favorite thing about the Jungle Dome is the location. You are way away from the hustle and bustle of all
the tourist stuff. It's a beautiful little paradise. Not even a paved road where you're going. We loved our room, super clean and pretty. One of the other really unique things about the Jungle Dome is that you eat breakfast and dinner with the other travelers and it's really fun to get to know everyone and hear about their trips.

We did the "Reefs and Ruins" tour. Our first day was so neat as we climbed into the jungle to go to the Che Chem Ha cave. William was an excellent guide and his wife cooks a fabulous lunch! We then went with Luis (another guide) to the Xunantunich Ruins. Luis was knowledgeable and very helpful and loves to take pictures for you. We loved the ruins, just beautiful!

The next day we went horseback riding. Ceasar was our guide this time and did and excellent job!! We went thru' the jungle and it was so beautiful. We then went and swam in the Blue Hole, fun,it's a sink hole
but watch out for the little nibbling fish. :) The next day was the all day trip to Tikal. It's a bit of a ride, but well worth the trip. and Ceasar (a different guide) was so amazing. The ruins were amazing and the size of the area is mind boggling. We then went cave tubing and the zip
line
the next day. Super fun!!!! We wished the zip lines were longer! Cave tubing was amazing and Luis knows his stuff. That day was my friends favorite! I couldn't decide because I loved them all.

The next day was the transfer to San Pedro. We didn't want to leave everyone at the Jungle Dome, we just love David (our good friend and great driver!) and Karen and the ladies in the kitchen, Wani, Tella & Nora (by the way they are excellent cooks!!!) The food is more than excellent
there and there's tons of it. Karen runs the Jungle Dome so well and is so fun to be around! We even got to meet Simone, Andy and the boys. Such nice people!

We snorkeled in San Pedro and it was so neat. I was scared of the sharks at first, but they are pretty shy of the people and don't bother with you. Tons of fish! San Pedro was our least favorite part of the trip. Very touristy! In hind-sight (at least for me) I would have stayed the whole time at the Jungle Dome.

I would HIGHLY recommend staying at the Jungle Dome. We were so well taken care of there! You won't regret it! You'll love it, just like the rest of us whom have stayed there!!! In fact, I'm already talking my husband into going with me this time so I can go back again! This is a fabulous vacation for anyone who likes to be active and be away from the mainstream!"

Belize Trip Review from Steven and Jeannine Mcgrath, Spokane, WA, USA

3 days on San Pedro was great for pampering and rum punch but to finish out our final 4 days at the Jungle Dome made our trip! Cave tubing & seeing Xunantunich with Luis (whom we won’t forget) was incredible, then to start off day 2 with a steep jungle hike and Black Hole Drop rappelling was unforgettable. Day 3 ~ ATM ~ Oh my gosh that cave entrance looks like a movie and the swimming, hiking and climbing trough those caves and seeing the remains with an awesome guide really made our entire stay at the Jungle Dome a memorable one. We loved your dogs and listening to howler monkeys and the food was great!!!

Steve and Jeannine Mcgrath Trip Review from their Belize Vacation - May 2007

We wanted to let you know we had an awesome time at the Jungle Dome! Everything was perfect...the food, the room, the company, the activities. After we did the Belize Black Hole Drop I remember thinking to myself "well that was a blast but I dont know if I would do that hike again right away cause that was a tough hike". Looking back at our pictures this past week I have been thinking "I would do that again in a heartbeat!".

We have been telling everyone about Belize and your place down there!

Thanks again

Scott and Stephanie Lyons on a Belize Cruise Ship Day Trip

Belize Cruise Ship Guest Comments from Scott and Stephanie Lyons

I wanted to let you know that we enjoyed our Cayo two temple tour and am very glad I found your website on-line. Everything went according to plan and Carlos was such a great tour guide.

He was very knowledgeable about the two sites and was very accommodating with everything. He brought us out to a wonderful local lunch and made sure we made it back to our boat in plenty of time.

Belize is a wonderful country and we are glad we had the opportunity to visit. We will look you up again if we make it back.

Thanks,
Scott & Stephanie Lyons,

Belize Jungle Dome Trip Review - Lucas Family, NC, USA

We have been delighted by our visit with you. Your personal welcome, flowers on the bed and a cool drink as we settled in made us instantly welcome. The children found so much to thrill them.

Stopping at the Zoo on the way from the airport could have been a disaster for tired travelers but as all your guides did, Juan brought us closer that we could have gone on a self-guided tour. Watching our 6 year-old feed a black jaguar, our 8 year-old toss peanuts to the howler monkeys we rarely see from closer than 100 feet, and standing beside a jabiru as tall as my 9 year old are all experiences we can’t soon forget.

James’ fondest memory of the ruins was touching the tarantula at the entrance to Tikal. Sarah loved sitting 20 meters up on the pyramid overlooking the ball court and market place. Catherine was proud to have climbed the hundreds of steps to the top and have her picture with the other family we spent the day with.

Our day trips included the zoo, Xunantunich ruins, horseback riding, tubing in the river caves and Tikal Ruins in Guatemala. Coming “home” was a perfect end to a hot, tiring day with the pool and hammocks and tire swings being sweet respites and the frogs, crickets, birds, monkeys and your own family & staff great comforts.

The room, food and smiles were perfect. We will be recommending you to everyone we meet. You have established a fantastic staff and experience and you are gracious and friendly!

Couldn’t have been better.

Belize Vacation Guest Comments from the Loracks Family

Our first trip to Belize was amazing! Thanks for the fabulous (oversized) portions of great food at every meal.

Cesar was a wonderfully informative and fun guide on our horseback ride. Luis was so knowledgeable about the Maya that he made our tours of Xunantunich and Cahal Pech come to live and even our kids didn’t complain too much! Karen is an awesome organizer/manager!

The cave tubing was so peaceful and unique. An unforgettable experience! Then going zip lining for the first time was a screaming success.

Thanks a million for such a fantastic vacation which we all wish could last MUCH longer. Awesome smoothies and awesome service (Katie Stack)

Best resort EVER!!!! Please don’t change anything. Our family had too much fun to write in this book. I guarantee everybody will have a good time!

Belize Trip Guest Comments from the Bloemke Family, Chicago, USA

The Jungle Dome Family,

Before arriving in Belize I was concerned about what we were getting into, such as our accommodations, food and tours. When starting the ride off the highway toward The Jungle Dome my concerns grew even larger (40 years of suburban life), until we arrived at your gate. To my surprise we pulled into your little slice of heaven. Starting with a friendly greeting from your family, a quick tour and a cold Belikin my vacation was started.

Every tour we took from the Belize Zoo, CheChem Ha Cave, Xunantunich, Cave tubing, Zip line, Tikal, Riding at Green Acres and swimming in the Blue Hole was exciting, interesting and enjoyable. All of our guides made sure we were well informed and made us feel welcome.

Thank you so much for making our stay so easy and enjoyable. I hope we get a chance to visit again!

David, Thank you for all your help! I’m sorry for keeping you up past your bedtime. John
