Our Yoga teacher has arrived and we now offer daily yoga sessions by the swimming pool and at other beautiful locations around the resort.
Her name is Karen Turner and she has arrived from Canada. Karen teaches Yoga, Pilates and is also a personal fitness trainer. So as well as offering some of the best Adventure Vacations in Belize we also have some great activities at the Resort to complement the existing Swimming Pool, Tree-Top Cafe, Equestrian Center and Wildlife Center (at Banana Bank, our neighbours) and the stunning Jungle surroundings of our Jungle Lodge.
Caving Adventure. Experience the Black Hole Drop at Caves Branch. A 2 hour Jungle Hike to the mouth of the Sink Hole prepares you for the Abseiling through the Jungle Canopy. Once at the bottom you will be treated to lunch, where you can enjoy the immensity of the Cave and beauty of its surroundings. Then another hike out of the Sink Hole through stunning Caves and Crystal formations before exiting the Jungle.

For a totally unique Belize Family Vacation we have been researching the East coast of Belize. The Garifuna settlement of Hopkins, where we have spent the last few days. Lebeha drumming center is a great place to spend an afternoon with the children where they can bang the drums with the Local kids who are all experts at playing punta music.
Today we visit Hopkins to the All Seasons Guest House. Hopkins is a beautiful small community only 1 hours drive from Belmopan where the Belize Jungle Dome Resort is located.
Right on the Sea with lots of beach front to play around on it has Scuba Diving, Snorkeling and Fishing Trips all in very close proximity. This is our first visit and we hope to bring back some great pictures. Plus we are putting together a longer Package for our Website which includes some time at Hopkins Village.
The Garifuna settlement day has just been celebrated and Hopkins is one of the centers for the Belize Garifuna community. They have one of the biggest drumming centers there also.

Horse Riding Vacations are a speciality from our Jungle Lodge. Located next to the biggest Equestrian Center in Belize you will ride through the Jungle, Wade through the River, and gallop through the Teak Plantation and Fields surrounding our Resort.
Mexican Circus comes to town. Belize might be a tropical country but these animals are not native. So when the Circus came to Belmopan, Belize they caused quite a stir.
Enjoy a boat trip from Ambergris Caye (when you book one of our Vacation Packages) to the islands near the mainland of Belize where you'll have the opportunity to see one of nature's most docile animals, the gentle manatee. After visiting these mammals, stop at one of Belize's most beautiful small islands, Goff's Caye, for lunch & snorkeling. With a further stop at Hol Chan & Shark-Ray Alley on the way back to the Tropical Island Resort.

The most amazing flowers in our Landscaped Gardens. We try as best we can to adhere to Organic gardening techniques in our Gardens producing and abundant amount of fruit, vegetables, flowers and trees.
Andy dealing with the Local Wildlife. Living in the Jungle Can bring its own hazards. For instance this snake decided to come a bit too close to the resort as it was foraging for food. I believe it was an Indigo Snake although identifying them is sometimes quite difficult.
A highly recommended book on the Wildlife of Belize is 'The Ecotravellers Wildlife Guide Belize and Northern Guatemala'. Written by Les Beletsky it has picturs of almost every mammal, bird, fish etc that lives in Belize. A very handy guide.
We quite often get Howler Monkeys sitting in the trees just 100 yards from the Jungle Dome, making so much noise as they mark out their territories. But great to look at and the Tourists often get amaznig close ups of Wild Monkeys.
The Ancient Guanacaste Tree at the bottom of the Swimming Pool is also a safe haven for the Black Vultures, Red Lored Parrots, Mealy Parrot, Collared Aracari and Keel Billed Toucan. ALso seen often around the Jungle Lodge are Hummingbirds feasting on all the flowers, and Woodpeckers.

This little fellow popped in to the house to say hello this morning. Bright an early at about 5.30am I had to carefully remove him/her. I'm not really sure how you sex a spider. Anyway I got a great close up picture before moving the Tarantula on.
Deep in the Belizean Jungle is one of the most exciting new Excavations called 'Caracol'
Caracol Mayan Temples - View Images Covering 30 miles of thick Jungle and only discovered in 1938. At its peak in 700AD this site has numerous pyramids, 5 Plazas, 2 ball courts and an ancient astronomic observatory. An onsite Visitors center provides a chance to see pictures and findings from the site.
When you book one of the All Inclusive Packages, from the Jungle to the Islands you will embark on a 'James Bond' style flight over the Tropical waters to your destination on San Pedro. Flights depart from Belize Municipal Airstrip and land at San Pedro Airstrip. Maya Island Air provide the transportation. You can observe a Jaguar from close up, have your pictures taken with Spider Monkeys, Parrots, Toucans and other Exotic Birds.
At the Jungle Dome we have a tame parrot called 'Robin' who flys around the resort and oversees the days events. She is as tame as our pet dogs and twice as brave. Even the Resort Cat thinks twice about approaching her.
The Belize Zoo has to be one of the best zoos in the world. Set in totally natural surroundings cut into the Jungle (you have to forgive the cages but then who would want to get this close to a Croc without a cage!! Crocodiles are found in Belize and can be seen sunning themselves along the Belize River and also down near the swampy terrain near Belize City, but one guaranteed place to see them is in the safe environment at the zoo where you can admire some of natures most amazing creatures.
