We have compiled some of the best video of Belize on our Youtube TV Channel with loads of home shot video of swimming with sharks, snorkeling, kayaking, mayan temples, jungle horseback riding, rappelling, zip lining and much more action packed fun and adventure in this Central American Oasis.
In line with the Belize Jungle Dome long term vision and Belizes Environmentally-Friendly appeal, we are in the process of working out Carbon Neutral Travel for our guests. What does this mean?
What is Carbon Neutral?
CarbonNeutral is the point at which the emissions from an activity or series of activities have been :
Assessed
reduced, where possible; and
the remaining emissions offset through investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency or forestry projects
The average American generates about 15,000 pounds of carbon dioxide every year from personal transportation, home energy use and from the energy used to produce all of the products and services we consume.
We are meeting with suitable Belizean organizations in order to offset the amount of Carbon emissions created by our guests travel. This includes calculating the emissions from Air Travel, Car Travel, Use of A/C, Travel in Belize by Car and Air etc. How will we do this? By offering a Carbon Neutral surcharge that will be used to support local Environmental projects such as re-forestation.
Attempting to reduce our emissions with simple measures such as collection of Rainwater.
Solar Hot Water Heating to reduce the amount of energy used in our Hot Water Heating.
Using Low energy Bulbs throughout our Lodge cutting out light energy bills by up to 1/3rd.
Composting Toilets.
It is our intention that we do not sacrifice our guests comfort so that Carbon Neutral travel will actually enhance the experience of your travel to Belize.
We are in the early stages of this development but would welcome feedback from guests who have stayed at the Belize Jungle Dome in the past and future guests considering traveling to Belize. Email us.
