It’s been a little over a week since our epic adventure with you. Here’s a photo of me sitting in “civilization” wishing I was back at the Jungle Dome sucking down a cold Belikin. ARGH!

We are still talking about our vacation and how wonderfully you guys packaged the day trips. We’ve definitely agreed, this was one of the most memorable. As Tim said, “This trip exceeded our expectations”. I will always remember the sights, activities, hospitality, but most of all the people of Belize. I especially will recollect some of the more humorous escapades:

Everyone’s expression (especially Luis our Tour Guide) as he picked us up from the airport and I pulled a calf muscle getting into the van. I’m sure he was thinking “I’ve gotta take care of this Grande Chino?”

At Tikal, I remember David’s puzzled look as I sank lower and lower right before the plastic chair gave out and I did a back-plant. Then of course there’s Tim telling me to “stay down, you might be injured” as a ruse so he could take photos.

That funny man Luis as he told the zip line guide to attach the “elephant” harness (extra shoulder strap). Hmm, I didn’t notice any other guest wearing one …

During our snorkeling trip out to Goff Island, it rained so hard we had to pull over to a clump of Mangrove trees. Tim scared the crap out of me when he pointed into the Mangroves and said, “Do you hear that? That’s gotta be a man-eating animal” It was the skipper who, unbeknownst to us, had dived overboard to inspect the boat. The noise was him exhaling through the snorkel tube.

At first, it wasn’t so funny, but as time wore on I found it more humorous. The porky woman over at Caye Caulker who wouldn’t leave us alone offering all kinds of “services”. Unfortunately, I didn’t get photos (maybe that was a good thing).

Dear Jungle Dome

This was a life changing experience for my mom and I. Everything from the crazy driving , to our day trips, to the great food, to the sitting by the pool.

The moment we got here all of our stress seemed to just melt away and it was so relaxing knowing everything was taken care of. The food was amazing, and it was wonderful to sit outside after dinner and talk while the toads came out and the howler monkeys sang. All of our day trips were incredible.

We can't even describe how much fun we had ! We learned so much and the entire experience was incredible ! We loved every second of this trip and wouldn't have changed a thing. Our stay here was simply life changing ! We will never forget it !

Belize Trip Reviews - Belize Jungle Dome - March 2010

The cool night air brushes across me as I reflect on the all-too-quickly passing 2 ½ days spent here. The peaceful evening noises remind me of last night’s serenade by the howler monkeys who’ve been hanging out in the tree across the river. The relative poverty and dusty landscape around and the wonderfully tended grounds and rich beauty of the Dome, the shrieking exhilaration of the zip line, then winding down with a drink and quiet conversation by the pool; and us 4 women in our 50’s and 60’s tubing through a cave, then enjoying meals with the other guests (20’s and 30’s).

Especially enjoyable was the ‘feel’ of the place – the guests who chose to come here (from all parts of the world) meld and mesh. There was a perfect balance of time with others and time with our small group. Taking breakfast and dinner together is a big part of what defines this place. There is an openness and intimacy that is completely unintrusive.

Thanks to all of the amazing staff and to our fellow guests for a wonderful stay.

I just wanted to thank you to you and your amazing staff for truly giving us a special vacation. The warmth and hospitality of your staff are unmatched. Karen and David make you feel right at home and make sure all of the details are taken care of. And Wani was such a wonderful cook and always brought our food with such a charming smile.

We absolutely loved all of our excursions. It is hard to pick which was our favorite. The ATM was such a great way to start. Wow!! is about all I can say. The kayaking was a really great way to see the country, learn about the wildlife and plant-life. Felt so relaxed after. The cave tubing and zip-lines were fun. And the Black Hole Drop - - that was exhilarating. My husband and I LOVED spending the night in the cave. That was spectacular and will be one of the most treasured nights on our life.

Thank you again. We are already talking of coming again and this time bringing our kids. They will love it!!

Belize Trip Review - Jay and Heide - Hackensack, New Jersey, USA - September 2009

This place is simply fantastic…and unique. The scenery is beautiful, the dogs are protective, the service is great, the food is amazing and the people are wonderful.

We feel like we have made a lifelong friend in David. He is one of the greatest guys. We never got a chance to hike with him at night in the jungle, but we know it would have been memorable and we know he is going to make a great guide one day. Test him on his knowledge of the land and the birds and his Texas Holdem Skills!

We did the Caracol and the Cave Tubing/Zip Line tours with Luis and the ATM Tour with Emil.

The best thing about our experience is everything we learned from David, Luis and Emil. These guys have a wealth of knowledge and are willing to share with anyone who asks. We hope to never forget anything on this trip but will certainly never forget the people we have met.

Belize Trip Review - Ajay Padgaonkar & Family - Dec 2009 - San Jose, California, USA

What a wonderful place and fantastic people! From the first email inquiry response to the end of our first two days today, it has been a great experience. Lightning-fast responses from Karen made our planning of this trip very efficient. She has been consistently patient, resourceful, responsive and accommodating. The staff here at the Dome has been very friendly. Home-cooked food here is tasty and the choice for us vegetarians and vegans is great! David is always here and helpful. Luis is so knowledgeable on the Maya culture and history, he is an encyclopaedia. He is well read, has worked with botanists and geologists and is also great with the canoe and cave tubes!

Every Belizean we have met is friendly. The tour guide, William, at Che Chem Ha who owns the property and discovered the cave was very helpful and informative in the cave. His family made a simple but delicious vegetarian meal for us. I think this friendliness rubs off on the visitors too as everyone staying here at the lodge has been friendly. Sitting together for dinner at the same table promotes this friendliness even more.

The countryside is beautiful. The variety of trees, fruits and flowers is bewildering. Weather has been pleasant – not too hot, not too cold. Many roads are dirt roads and poverty is rampant and obvious but friendliness and simplicity beats all.

It is the last day here already and we are sad to leave this place as it has been like home.

Karen was wonderful in making last minute changes for us in the last 2 days. Tikal was excellent, zip line was great. The night walk with David was a neat adventure. We got to see crocodiles, monkeys, racoons, a variety of spiders, herons and other water birds. Luis is so full of information about the Mayas. The long ride to Guatemala and back was full of conversation. He is quite versatile with his knowledge of botany, caves, history and politics.

Karen you are the best part of this all; you made the experience memorable. Thanks a bunch! We will never forget how you cared for Tanya when she was sick the first day.

Thank you for a wonderful three days in Cayo. I couldn’t imagine a better place to stay while visiting this beautiful region of Belize. The grounds here are very peaceful and we felt extremely welcome always. Karen you did a great job planning our day trips and making recommendations. David, we enjoyed and appreciated your knowledge of the flora and fauna of Belize. To the cooking staff – we have never been so well-fed in our lives! It was wonderful to eat outside in such a tranquil setting with such outstanding meals.

Trip Review - Somerville, Massachusetts, USA - Len Granowetter - October 2009

We loved just about everything about the Belize Jungle Dome, and so did
our three-year-old son Jack: The location, the layout, the pool, the
food, the spacious room, the immaculate grounds, and of course, manager
Karen and her great staff.

We chose the Jungle Dome for our first two nights in Belize largely
because of its location (and great reviews on Trip Advisor).

Belize Jungle Dome rated "excellent" by 60 travelers

We were looking for someplace nice that was "on the way" to the activities and
sights of the Cayo district, but that wasn't *too* long of a drive from
the airport after flying all day (we had a rental car). The Jungle Dome
location was perfect - I'm not sure anyplace else is quite as centrally
located! It's about an hour to the West to the Xunantunich ruins, 1/2
hour East to the zoo, maybe an hour or so South to Barton Creek Cave,
less than an hour to the inland Blue Hole National Park, and 10 minutes
to Guanacaste National Park.

And although the Jungle Dome is 5 miles off the highway, it's one of the
easiest "5 miles off the highway" locations in Belize. Although it's
not a paved road, it's one of best unpaved roads we saw in all of Belize
- recently greatly improved and in great condition.

The place only has about 4 rooms, and during our low-season stay, we
were the only guests! So Karen upgraded us to a poolside suite. It was
huge! A large bedroom, separate living room/kitchenette, big bathroom,
walk-in closet/dressing area. Oh yeah, and a private outdoor patio with
comfy chairs to just sit and listen to the sounds of the jungle.

The place is absolutely perfect if you have a young child, as we do,
because everything is right outside your door. We had our meals on a
patio 5 feet outside our room door, the pool was 10 feet away, etc.
Everything was "in view", so Jack was able to roam the grounds, play,
and explore, while we could be relaxing in a hammock, or finishing a
leisurely breakfast. The pool has a terrific shallow area where Jack
could wade and play. He must have spent 2 hours a day in there!

The cool thing is that although it was great for young kids, it also
would have been great as a romantic hideaway if we were traveling alone,
or as a fun hangout if we were there with a group of friends. The nice
thing about a small place like this, is that its character is largely
what you make it. And Karen seems just as comfortable hosting various
types of guests, from those who want to hang out in the evening at the
treetop cafe overlooking the pool tossing back Belikin beers and
Caribbean drinks, to those who prefer playing hide-and-seek and
ring-around-the-rosie.

The food was excellent - we ate breakfast and dinner there each day. It
was interesting being asked via email before we left home what we wanted
for dinner when we arrived in Belize! My wife replied: "I'm mostly
vegetarian, my husband's not picky, and Jack would love just plain
noodles." No problem! We had a great meal waiting for us when we
arrived, and everyone got exactly what they wanted. I would call the
food "homestyle" - not "fancy", but excellent, and plentiful. The kind
of food the cook Juani would serve you if you were a guest in her own
home, and always served with a friendly smile.

After leaving the Jungle Dome, we stayed at two other excellent places
in different areas of Belize (HIdden Valley Inn and Hamanasi). And
although we all had a great time at both, our son Jack kept saying "I
really liked Karen's hotel. Can we go back to Karen's hotel?" We
hadn't booked the last two nights of our trip - leaving it open
depending on where we wanted to spend more time. We thought about
staying someplace else, like Jaguar Paw, for variety. But Jack loved
"Karen's hotel" so much (and so did we), that there was no reason to go
anyplace else! So we came back for our last two nights.

Coming back to the Jungle Dome felt like coming home after 5 days away.
It was fun coming back to people we now knew - Karen, Juani, guide
David, the house dogs Max and Phoebe, and the familiar pool and grounds.
It was fun telling everyone about our week's adventures, and Karen was
visibly touched by our "I liked Karen's hotel" story.

A couple of other anecdotes:

1) On the last night of our stay, I had the opportunity to do a "night
jungle walk" with guide David. I highly recommend it. David drove me
and a couple of Karen's friends down a ridiculous overgrown dirt and
grass track, then onto a barely visible "path" through cornfields and
brush, to a great little trail through the jungle along the Belize
river. There, we hiked with headlamps, and got to see glowing eyes of
kinkajoos and opossums hiding in the trees, a crocodile swimming in the
river, giant frogs, and lots of large spiders quietly spinning their
webs. The jungle is alive at night! At one point, we stopped, turned
off our flashlights, and sat silently in the dark on the jungle floor
for 5-10 minutes listening to the sounds of the jungle. A surreal
experience.

2) On most of the mornings, I went for an early run along the dirt roads
around the lodge. Past the Banana Bank Lodge and its horses, past
groves of fruit trees, and through large clearings and pastureland
surrounding by trees. So peaceful and invigorating. And each time,
house dogs Max and Phoebe accompanied me the entire way - usually joined
by a couple of other neighborhood dogs from the Banana Bank Lodge or
local homes. At one point, I was running down the road surrounded by 5
dogs and a white horse(!) which ran a few yards with us as one of the
dogs was nipping at his heels. What a sight! (And normally I don't
even *like* dogs!)

3) On two mornings, we woke up to the sounds of howler monkeys roaring
in the trees just across the river, tropical birds chasing each other
around the huge Guanacaste tree just past the pool, various other
tweets, and what sounded like a woodpecker right outside our door. Jack
sat up and asked "Daddy, why are all the animals talking at the same time?!"

Anyway, if you like the idea of a small modern lodge, with beautiful
grounds, a great location, and friendly people, then I'd highly
recommend the Belize Jungle Dome!

We are headed out to the Black Hole Drop overnight cave adventure soon so we have to write quickly!

The Jungle Dome has been amazing to us. Honeymoon flowers when we arrived (all fresh from around the jungle dome and beautiful!) and a great staff. David was a friend as soon as he picked us up from the airport, Karen has been extremely helpful with our tour and travel arrangements and we cannot say enough about the food!!! It was fantastic and the meal presentation was always impeccable.

We did a 2 hour horseback ride the day we arrived which was nice but very strenuous for two people who hadn’t ridden in several years and who had just gotten off the plane!

The ATM cave trip was very very cool. Very adventurous and crazy but we were kept safe and having a fun time – that was a once in a lifetime experience.

We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to recommend The Jungle Dome to friends!

Like so many people before us, we don’t even know where to start ….everything was so fantastic, especially the people. The uniqueness of the Dome, the staff and the adventures were way beyond our expectations. Each trip holds special memories that we will never forget. The beauty of the grounds is inspiring, you have done such a fantastic job transforming this place into a paradise. There is not a single thing we would change about this trip! It was just the perfect mixture of adventure and relaxation, not to mention the delicious food that provided us with the energy to do all these day trips! We have certainly fallen in love with Belize and the Jungle Dome and hope to visit again.

What a wonderful trip! From the dogs and cat to the wonderful and friendly staff, I instantly felt at home.

The villa was a beautiful home for our family of six. I especially loved the little touches – the tiny bed & kiddie dishes for my little one and she loved them too. Delicious food, great advice and a successful night walk. Trips to canoe, cave tube, beach and Tikal were all great.

To all,

In speaking of the incredible experience which we had here in Belize & at the Jungle Dome, I feel like we’d be echoing the very same positive sentiment which have been elaborated far more eloquently on the previous pages, so instead we offer the following tips to future travellers:

1. Definitely partake in the board game playing in the evening, but be very wary of David’s rules in checkers.

2. Be open to trying any and all new foods you are served, even when offered termites or iguana!

3. A notable exception to rule number 2 is the ‘Jackass bitter’ leaf - the name should speak for itself (as should your common sense, unlike mine)

4. Do whatever it takes to cheat your way through the 9 trials of Xibalba...bring a headlamp too!

5. We found all of the remaining crystal skulls, so do not bother searching the ruins for them (but definitely take time to visit them regardless!)

In all seriousness, this made for the perfect venue & overall experience for an unforgettable, adventurous honeymoon. We were both very taken by the kindness of everyone we encountered, especially here at the Jungle Dome.

Where do I ever begin? Our trip to Belize has been absolutely amazing and we owe it all to the Jungle Dome staff! When we missed our connecting flights due to weather delays, I emailed Karen in a panic and she quickly called me back and explained that she would simply change our itinerary to accommodate the change. Karen managed to change our stressful situation into a very relaxing and comforting one.

We were greeted by David at the airport, who was very cheerful and told us great stories on our way to the Jungle Dome. Delicious meal and Amigo’s - Good recommendation!

We loved the serene setting here and enjoyed David’s signature Coconut drink : )

Our favourite excursion was the ATM cave, an absolute ‘must do’ while here! That’s not to say that any of the other trips were less than spectacular.

I definitely recommend the Blackhole Drop for the thrill seekers, cave tubing for families and zip-lining and kayaking for the adventurous...and when in doubt, the pool is great too!

The meals were great. Today’s brownie with cream cheese filling was just sinful. I hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did. Thanks again to Karen, David and the rest of the Jungle Dome staff for an unforgettable vacation!!

This is an email I’ve been meaning to write for a couple of weeks but home life post holiday is as hectic as ever. However, our experience with you was as such I’ve been determined to make time and put in the effort, my better half has already posted a Trip Advisor review, so here we go.

I’d just like to express our eternal gratitude for giving us one of the best holiday experiences we’ve had. As experienced travellers, it was an absolute outstanding experience staying with you guys!

The place, activities, surroundings and everything were all wonderful, but none of it compared to the simply outstanding service from the staff at all levels.

The food and cooking staff were outstanding, with my partner a vegetarian, it’s the first place abroad we’ve been where she felt overly comfortable and confident in the food being presented. Incredibly polite and courteous at all times!

Despite being in a position where he must of told his tales a thousand times before, Luis was just so incredibly knowledgeable, interesting, and above all still so enthusiastic. We loved every minute we were able to spend with him from the moment he picked us up from the bus station.

David was just a fantastic guy to have around. Simply couldn’t do enough for us and went out of his way to be at our service before we even knew we needed it. Kept us thoroughly entertained whilst poolside and his wildlife knowledge and enthusiasm for it was hugely appreciated, he was only too happy to answer all our questions and show us around.

Finally Karen, how amazing! I felt as though I knew Karen before I got there as she was sooooooo incredibly helpful in her advice to us getting there. We travelled around Mexico the week prior and I was in constant touch with her via email. Her advice and recommendations whilst we were travelling through the country were absolutely invaluable to us. Everything at the Belize Jungle Dome was perfect and better than we’d been expecting. We always get itchy feet if staying in a place more then a night or 2 but for the first time in a long time, the organisation of our time here was so great, it was fantastic to know we’d be heading back to such a superbly run place to relax and prepare for the following days activities.

Please relay our eternal gratitude to all the staff for giving us such a great time, we met some great people and the open invite to come stay in London was a genuine one, anytime!

This is our 3rd time at the Jungle Dome, we just can't get enough of this beautiful haven in the jungle. Everything is incredible....From the staff of Karen, David, Tella, Wani, Nora to the pets Max, Daphne and Phoebe are all wonderful, inviting, knowledgeable and make your stay perfect.

We traveled with a large group of 12 and everything went flawless, the meals were absolutely delicious, the room are gorgeous and so comfortable and the surrounding land is beyond beauty. The Howler Monkey's at night while you sleep are are incredible sound to hear!

We also had a wedding at the Jungle Dome and everyone was so accomodating to allow us to have it hear....It was the perfect place to have such a ceremony.

The excursions, lead by guide Luiz are incredible and all inclusive so you do not need to worry about anythign except waking up and going! ATM is absolutely incredible for those you like caving, EL Pilar was a magificent splendor to see, Horseback riding and the riverboat tour are relaxing and breathtaking, Barton Creek Cave canoeing was the highlight of my trip....I have never witnessed anything like this and I can't wait to go back...Which will be next year of course!

To everyone at the Jungle Dome, thank you once again for such a wonderful trip for our large group! You are all so blessed to work in such an incredible place...

Oh my goodness, where do I begin?! We loved our stay at the Jungle Dome so much I am not sure I can put it into words. From the moment that we got to the airport, we were treated so kindly. David was waiting for us when we arrived at the airport. He took us for a nice lunch and filled us with a wealth of knowledge on our ride to the hotel. As soon as we got there, Karen arranged a horse back riding adventure and David offered to lead our night jungle walk. We enjoyed both of these very much.

We did the Black Hole drop the next day which was breathtaking. Although I had never rapelled before, I felt very safe with the guides. Everything went so smoothly. The following day, we did the zip lining and cave tubing. Both of these adventures were great. My only regret is that we did not have more time at the Jungle Dome for more adventures. We usually spend most of our vacations diving at different locations because we love to dive. We did love the first half of our vacation diving around Ambergris and the Blue Hole, but I can honestly say that I enjoyed the second half more staying at the Jungle Dome.

The meals were very good, especially breakfast with the fresh fruit and eggs! We love the different juices and were all eager to see what type of fresh juice we would have with each meal. The family style dining was so nice, because it gave us any opportunity to meet and interact with the other guests. That really added to the experience. The parrots and toucans in the surrounding trees was an added bonus.

We just wanted to take a moment to tell you how much we enjoyed ourselves and to praise the staff. Karen was very friendly and efficient. She kept everyone on schedule for all of our activities and made sure things ran smoothly. We enjoyed getting to know her. The cleaning staff did a wonderful job, because our rooms were immaculate. The grounds were so beautifully maintained and the pool was spotless.

David is just an inspiration to us. I cannot believe he has just learned English in the past few years. We were so impressed with his kindness and eagerness to share his knowledge of his country. He was waiting by the gate for the guests when we returned from our trips offering cold drinks. You could not have a better employee! We believe he truly is a wonderful person.

Thanks you so much for arranging this wonderful (best ever!!) vacation for us. We will recommend this spot to all our friends and family and hope to return ourselves. Our children are 6 and 8 and are wondering when they can come. I think that sounds like a good reason to come back.

Our hosts were beyond what we could have imagined, the food define (and I will never know how the ladies managed to remove all that mud). The rooms were very clean and the grounds...well, if you are reading this, you can see for yourselves.

The ruins are a must and ask about ATM & the Black Hole Drop: all so much more than worth your while. The guides that they set you up with are more than knowledgeable.

Belize Trip Review - January 2009

Mark & I had an incredible stay here at the Jungle Dome. The service and staff have been exceptional and like many who wrote before us, we loved the food. We had a short stay (3 nights) but, with the help of Karen, we’ve been able to pack a lot into 4 days.

1st day: Luis picked us up at the Caye Caulker water taxi terminal and showed us a little bit of Belize City. He took us on a amazing tour of the Belize Zoo, which we believe is a must see! Make sure you have a guide, it really enhances the experience.

2nd day: We woke up early for a run down the mainroad. It’s 2 miles to the Banana Bank sign & worth it, even if you walk most of it. Beautiful horses are grazing everywhere you look. We then went on the ATM tour. It was breathtaking! Be prepared to be wet (wear swim gear) & shoes you don’t mind to have wet for the rest of the trip. This was one of our favourite trips and we particularly enjoyed our guide, Orlando.

3rd day: We went to Caracol. Wow! It was impressive, inspiring, beautiful. I’m truly glad we made the 2 ½ hour bumpy (riverbed bumpy) drive. Luis was our guide again and shared a wealth of history and facts. This was topped off with a treck to the Rio Frio cave (gorgeous) and then a quick dip in the Rio Frio Falls. It was a long day, but worth the trip.

Last day: We’re off the experience the Black Hole Drop. Luis said that we will kissing the ground when we finish the 300 ft descent, you bet it will happen too!
Once again, we’ve had such a nice stay here. I hope to return for either a longer stay or just to try out everything we’ve missed. Thanks Karen, David and crew!

P.S. It’s -40 degrees in Fairbanks now. Boy are we glad to be here instead!

We really enjoyed our stay here at the Jungle Dome. We really enjoyed the food that we ate. The pool was cold but everyone, except mom, went in. We liked seeing the Mayan ruins a lot. The days at the Jungle Dome went by so fast. The only bad part was leaving!

I would first like to say that we have been to many adventurous and historical places but none quite like this. We actually started our trip in Guatemala and then flew to Belize where we were greeted by Luis at the airport. He was immediately warm, funny and incredibly knowledgeable. We knew we were headed to the Jungle Dome but the Jungle Dome has far surpassed any expectations we may have had.

The staff has been excellent with just the right amount of attention. The Chefs….my hats off to them! I wish I could spend a month or two learning how they cook. Everything is delicious and made from scratch!

Where to adventure to? We are here during the rainy season so our activities have been debated on a daily basis. We first went to the Belize Zoo, guided by Luis who was able to give us an extensive history on the animals and Flora. We got to see the jaguars, puma, harpey eagle and many other wonderful Belizean creatures.

Our next day was a full day – tour of the ruins. Luis again was our guide. We told him his brain was going to explode one of these days for how much information he holds in there. He is a true historian and an invaluable aspect of this resort and our time here.

Next off to Che Chem Ha Cave. Our guide and care taker of the cave was very much spiritually connected to the history and spirit of the cave. Definitely for the active individual who is not afraid of dark enclosed spaces. If you make it in there – what a life-altering experience.

The Black Hole Drop was a vigorous hike only to descend via the mountain between a massive opening between two once-connected caves. The staff was truly professional and knowledgeable. We were quite lucky that only the two of us were on that tour as we were able to trek all the way in the cave. It was one of those experiences that puts into perspective how small we are in the grand scheme of things.

Today is our final day here before we are off to one of the islands. With room for one more adventure (cave tubing).

We have enjoyed our stay and even wish we had booked longer but as always, so much to do, so little time.

Absolutely fantastic!! We will recommend the Jungle Dome and Belize to family and friends. There is no question that if I didn’t have prior commitments (same family and friends listed above and a job) then I would stay here and work!!

The people here are kind, the weather is fantastic and the food is fantastic. My wife and I are here on our honeymoon and we couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate.

Oh yeah, also the ATM cave tour is a must. Of the adventures we did (Black Hole Drop, Cave Tubing, Zip Line, Kayaking) the ATM was far and away the most amazing.

Our stay here has been amazing. All of the trips were fantastic.

We did the cave tubing/zip line, Tikal, horse back riding, mountain biking, Black Hole Drop, Kayaking, Zoo and ATV’s. Everyone had a blast! We love Max and Phoebe. Max got into a fight and recovered great. He is a great guard dog. Lucas and Aidan are so funny and are great entertainment. David did a great job learning everyone’s names. He was really fun to talk with. We hope he becomes a guide. Andy & Simone were just amazing. They make this stay even more fun. The food was so good. There wasn’t one person that didn’t like it. The service was spectacular.

We had a wonderful time here at the Jungle Dome.

Being our first trip to Belize, we weren’t sure what to expect. We were astounded by the beauty of the country, how nice the people are and by the variety of things to do.

All the staff, especially Karen and Luis, were exceptionally informed and helpful. The food was good and there was plenty of it!

Our favourite trip was to the ATM Cave. Everyone should experience the magnificence of this cave. Caracol was beautiful as well, although beware the plethora of fire ants! Swimming in the natural pools after Caracol was great too.

Thanks to the Jungle Dome for an amazing time! We are off to the beach for some diving before returning home.

We decided this year to make our anniversary trip an adventure. The Jungle Dome and its staff made our home away from home a great place. We have had a fantastic week. Coming at this time of year was great because in most cases our activities were simply us and our guide.

Black Hole Drop – start with a bang! A great hike, great rappel and beautiful scenery (a wonderful introduction to the jungle)

Cave Tubing – Luis showed us all the plants and unlike all the other groups, we floated at our own pace

Zip Line – A fun experience which unfortunately ended too soon

ATM – what an amazing trip! First swimming in among the cave was neat but then to be able to see and admire such a beautiful place. Francisco did a great job explaining what occurred and what they think happened in such a sacred place.

Horseback Riding – it was a pleasure to actually run the horses and learn from Cesar.

Massage – Susan enjoyed this brief respite from the jungle

Mountain Bike ride – Eric rode with David to Valley of Peace and back – ahhh forgot how tough riding off road on loose gravel is

Che Chem Ha cave – what an amazing cave and to be escorted by William , the guy who found it. Amazing that places like these are all around.

Kayaking – We enjoyed the botany education from Link but the ride was not quite the adventure we expected

Caracol – ahh the Mayan ruins you read about. Amazing to see the buildings the Mayans made so long ago

Keep the bug spray bottle full, know that 95% of the roads are bumpy, enjoy the adventures and absorb the Belizean culture, life and people.

Upon our arrival we were greeted by Luis, who gave us a history lesson as we drove in from the airport. He is such a wealth of knowledge. Karen made us feel right at home and our candle-light dinner on the balcony of our room was perfect. The food was beyond compare at every single meal.

Our first adventure was to Caracol with Luis and once again we learned so much. I think this adventure was one of my favourites. The Mayans were such an interesting people and Luis never missed a beat with trying to show us everything. Our next adventures consisted of cave tubing with Luis, ATM with Orlando, horseback riding with Cesar and a trip to the zoo with David. ATM was definitely an experience I will never forget. It’s extremely challenging trying to get to the cathedral but well worth the trip. If you have time for the zoo it is a must.

Everyone here – Karen, Luis, David, Wani, Tea and the rest of the staff – have made this a trip of a lifetime. Getting to know them and where they come from and the rich history here will definitely bring me back for another trip to Belize.

The ATM Cave was probably my favourite trip. It’s a challenge but the cathedral is amazing. Luis is awesome. He is basically a history book on legs and he is not bad with the botany and zoology either. I loved listening to Karen’s and David’s stories of how they ended up at the Jungle Dome. Karen makes me want to pack up and move to Belize and David is a complete inspiration. The food has been excellent and I am going home fat! I loved the zoo and horseback riding was a blast! Everyone here has been so nice and helpful. I can’t wait to come back.

Yay for the Jungle Dome!

What to say? There are not enough words to describe the experience we had at the Jungle Dome. The Dome is so beautiful but the people make it extra special. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and the food is fantastic! We really felt at home here.

We came here for a little vacation. My husband is the one who really wanted to come to Belize. I’m not a fan of hot, humid, buggy weather but I love my husband. If it weren’t for the Jungle Dome, my Belize experience wouldn’t have been nearly as great.

Karen took care of us along with David. Everyone was so accommodating and made us feel like family. I got to see David’s new baby girl Amy and Nora’s baby girl, Karen.

Now about the adventures….our first day out we did the ATM tour. It was amazing. I really didn’t know what to expect but it was unbelievable! I didn’t realize it was a wet cave, so that was a surprise. We stayed wet/walking in water most of the time. I had been in quite a few caves but none like this. This is a MUST do adventure.

The next day we did the Black Hole Drop. It was so challenging! I really struggled with the hike and when it came to the rappelling part I was just glad to be able to sit and relax awhile. I wasn’t too scared about the 300 foot drop! They tell you the hike out is easier but it isn’t. Don’t let them fool you. My hubby loved it thought and I am just a wimp I guess. I wouldn’t recommend this if you are not used to hiking and heat.

The next day I took it easy with a wonderful massage and some souvenir shopping while my husband went kayaking. He had a great time and got to see many birds and iguanas. I stayed at the Dome and saw two Toucans in the Guanacaste tree right outside the patio. They are very rare to see so I felt lucky.

The next day we did cave tubing and zip line. It was a very fun and relaxing day. The river was moving pretty low and slow so we took a little longer than you would in the wet season but it was nice and relaxing. The zip lines were great for beginners. It was very exciting and a great day for families.

I can’t say enough about the people at the Jungle Dome. They are AMAZING. Everyone is so personable and genuinely kind. They really care about your experience here. Be appreciative and don’t take it for granted. You can’t find service like this anywhere.

Enjoy your stay and have fun. We’ll miss the Dome. The food was amazing!

WE have been on numerous vacations but nothing quite compares to our experience here. The service was amazing, the food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was positively delightful. Each day was a new and exciting adventure that somehow seemed to exceed the day before.

Our tour guides were knowledgeable, friendly and made each experience the best it could be. From scuba diving the Blue Hole to rappelling the Black Hole Drop to exploring ATM Cave ~ we could not have asked for more. We gained a new-found appreciation and admiration for Mayan Culture and history. We had a hard time choosing where to go for our honeymoon. After all, it is a pretty big world! But we are so happy that we stumbled upon Belize and the Jungle Dome!

We could not have imagined a better trip if we wanted to. Between the ATM cave, Caracol, Cave Tubing, Zip Lining and the overnight stay in the Black Hole Drop cave, many amazing memories were created. Also, thank you so much for your hospitality.

The food was wonderful, our room stayed clean, everyone was very helpful, much information was offered and service was always given with an eager smile!

This trip’s success had everything to do with your hard work so thanks again!

We knew we wouldn’t want to leave and that is an understatement. It has been like being able to visit family in Belize ~ that’s how it feels.

Highlights were Tikal, which was astonishing, the Belize Zoo, and yesterday’s trek through the ATM cave to see the Mayan archaeology remains at the top of the cave. Very gruelling but truly a once in a lifetime experience. Everyone here is so kind and makes you feel that the Dome is home.
